Earlier this year we took a road trip to Colorado. To get there we had to get through a lot of Arizona, up through the 4 Corners. I was excited to drive though parts of Arizona I’ve never drove before. If I were by myself I would probably take a full day to get to Colorado with all the stops for photos. 

About an hour to an hour and a half outside of Flagstaff is the Petrified National Forest. What a unique place!  Normally when a tree dies, as all things living eventually do, it rots and turns back to earth. Well that never happened in this one small patch of Arizona. It turned into rock hard stone. In that process it also turned into a kaleidoscope of colors too. 

If you ever get the chance to visit the place, you’ll notice the whole area looks like you’re on another planet. I’ll post some of those photos another day. For new enjoy the petrified wood.  Be sure to click and view the full size image to see the detail in the wood.

OK here is the next set of photos from my trip. I’m a little behind in posting, we went to another island for a couple days that was very remote so no internet access, which is also a good thing. Anyway here are some photos from our last night in Manila and first day in Cebu.

I’ll include a little more details this time too. One of my favorite things about this trip that I can enjoy this time that I didn’t have an appreciation for before is the food. 9 years ago all I ate here was the chicken and some fish with rice. I missed out on the fresh cut mangoes, bikol express, goat meat (yeah I ate that today, freshly killed, pretty tasty), and tons of other foods. I’ll be sure to try and cook some new things when I get back home.

Here are the first photos from the Philippines. Clicking on any of the photos will take you to the photo gallery where you can view in large size each photo! These were all taken on the way to and in Manila. We spent most of Friday in the Intramuros and Mall of Asia. Friday night (and into Saturday morning) we were dancing the night away in Greenbelt. Now about to leave to Cebu.
