Car Wash to help victims of flood in the Philippines

No Comment // Written on Sep 27, 2009 // Christian, Family, In the news, Philippines

8:00 AM – 1:00 PM somewhere in Metro PHX. We will be accepting donations, 100% of proceeds will go to the Philippine Red Cross. We hope to be collecting items to send back as well, currently checking on resources for that.

To have the most up to date info on the carwash, visit www.twitter.com/floodcarwash

If you would like to help out in anyway, email floodcarwash@gmail.com

In the meantime if you’re sitting there and feeling like you want to do something right away, or can’t help, please pray for the people affected by Ondoy.

Thanks,

Eric

The last 7 days in the Philippines

This is a whole mix of photos from the last week. Some photos from our Lola’s 89th b-day party, some of our trip to Siquijour (pronounced Siki hore), some of us snorkeling today in a marine preserve on the island of Negros where Dumaguete is at, in a town called Dauin, and some small stores like a pirated DVD store.  Clicking on any of the photos should take you to the photo album where you can see much larger photos. From there you can also click on view full size to view an even larger photo. OK that is all for now. Leave a comment on the blog and I’ll comment back!

Peace,

Eric

Manila to Cebu

OK here is the next set of photos from my trip. I’m a little behind in posting, we went to another island for a couple days that was very remote so no internet access, which is also a good thing. Anyway here are some photos from our last night in Manila and first day in Cebu.

I’ll include a little more details this time too. One of my favorite things about this trip that I can enjoy this time that I didn’t have an appreciation for before is the food. 9 years ago all I ate here was the chicken and some fish with rice. I missed out on the fresh cut mangoes, bikol express, goat meat (yeah I ate that today, freshly killed, pretty tasty), and tons of other foods. I’ll be sure to try and cook some new things when I get back home.

Remember click on a photo to enlarge.

Peace,
Eric.

Here are the first photos from the Philippines. Clicking on any of the photos will take you to the photo gallery where you can view in large size each photo! These were all taken on the way to and in Manila. We spent most of Friday in the Intramuros and Mall of Asia. Friday night (and into Saturday morning) we were dancing the night away in Greenbelt. Now about to leave to Cebu.
Peace,
Eric.
