Weekly Photo: Playing in the Rain

No Comment // Written on Jul 29, 2010 // Friends, Fun stuff, Philippines, Photography, Weekly Photo

In light of today’s valley wide rainstorm in the Phoenix area, and the 1 year anniversary of going back to the Philippines, I thought this self pic would be great for today.

This was up in the mountains in the Philippines. We went up to escape the heat and check out a waterfall. This pool was fed by fresh waters flowing from the rain forests in the jungle. After coming back from the hike to see this magnificent waterfall, the skies opened up and out came the rain. It would be one that would receive national news attention in Phoenix, but probably just an extra strong storm for the island of Negros Oriental.

Rain brings dread to the Filipinos, but to this guy from the desert, it brings excitement (as you can see from everybody’s facebook and twitter posts from people in Phoenix!) So I made the best of it and had my wife take this fun shot of me in the pool.

Manny Pacquiao won this weekend over Miguel Cotto. As if you needed to be told that. My entire friends feed on Facebook and Twitter was covered in an outpouring of support for the famed Filipino fighter. Here are some of my friends reactions.

Molly

This will be our 8th Cancer Climb up South Mountain. For those that don’t know (and you should by now) this climb means a lot to us.  Besides the fact we all know someone affected by cancer and the cancer society has helped save so many lives, we started doing this together even before we were dating and this is where I proposed to Ny in 2006. Plus its lots of fun to just spend time walking up with mountain with friends and no distractions, just the mountain, your friends and water stops. This year I will also finally bring Molly up in a wagon, something I been talking about forever haha!

So I have to oppurtunities for you to get involved, join us on the climb (read below for everything you need to know), or donate to our team. 2006 Cancer Climb Crew

If you want to donate, click here to donate online or you can get in touch with me and give me the money directly. All donations are tax deductable and if you donate online you can get a form for tax purposes.

The event is Saturday morning, February 28, 2009 and you can register online up until the night before (but doing eariler makes sure you get a shirt with the awesome cool logo I’ll be making) If you haven’t gone before, we meet very early in the morning and if you need to do things that day, it will be over and you can be home as early as 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM. If any of you guys are a lil short on funds at the moment, just as I’ve done for everyone before let me know and I can set you up, just please pay me back :-)
